CAPACITY-BUILDING is an investment in peopleāin their preparation, their recruitment, and their ongoing learning. It is an acknowledgment that a culture of continuous learning must be created throughout all levels of Adventist education, equipping individuals to obtain, improve, and apply the knowledge, skills, and resources they need in order to do the work they have been called to do.
It is important for individuals to continue to grow and improve along the career continuum. Capacity building addresses three interrelated policy and practice clusters that span this continuum: preparation, recruitment, and retention. Building capacity begins in teacher preparation programs, continues through the recruitment process, and is an important element for the continued growth and retention of all employees.
